President Kovind to inaugurate Shirdi airport today

Mumbai: The much-awaited airfield during Shirdi will be inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind today. This after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has released permit to a Shirdi airfield on Sep 21.


Developed by Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) during encampment Kakadi in Ahmednagar district. The airfield will have daytime operations with night operations too commencement in successive months. Travel time between Mumbai and Shirdi is approaching to be cut to 45 minutes. Currently, it takes approximately 9 hours by sight and 10 hours by highway for a stretch of about 240 kilometers.


The runway during a airfield is reportedly prolonged adequate to concede for  Airbus A-320 and Boeing 737 aircrafts while it is learnt that a series of operators have already voiced seductiveness in commencement their operations here.
