READ MORE Panaji: Ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday inspected an under-construction bridge on Mandovi River here, the first time he has been seen in public since returning to the state on October 14 post hospitalisation in Delhi’s AIIMS. Parrikar, who is suffering from a pancreatic ailment, has been recuperating at his private residence near here since October 14 and this is the first time he has moved out of the house, officials said. Some children were found playing with the balloons, police said on Sunday. An FIR has been registered in this regard following a complaint by Malkhan, a home guard, who found these balloons in the hands of children at the festival, Chhauto Ram, SHO, Adarsh police station said. “We are probing who brought these balloons and gave them to the children,” he said. The police were told that some youth were found carrying these balloons, but they could not be traced, the officer said. READ MORE Hyderabad: A 20-year-old B.Tech student allegedly committed suicide by setting herself on fire at her house in Shankarpally area here, police said on Sunday. She was apparently upset after her mother questioned her over continuously talking and chatting on the phone, they said. The young woman, who was a second year student of B.Tech course, doused herself in kerosene and set herself on fire on Saturday when no one was present at her house, said Shankarpally police station inspector N Lingaiah. She died on the spot. “On Friday, her mother asked her over her regular talking and chatting on phone suspecting that she is talking to her boyfriend. The mother took away the phone and found that her daughter was using a new SIM card, following which an argument ensued between them”, Lingaiah said, adding that no suicide note was found. The deceased was staying with her mother and brother. A case has been registered under section 174 of CrPC.
