Jamshedpur Girl Alleges Raped By Cops, Blackmailed With Video

READ MORE Ranchi:  Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday ordered a CID probe into the allegations by a minor girl that she was raped by some persons, including two police officers, and then blackmailed by them, an official release said in Ranchi. The direction for the CID probe came during the ‘Sidhi Baat’ programme of the chief minister when the girl, a resident of Jamshedpur, complained to him that she was raped by the accused who also made a video to blackmail her. She accused three people along with MGM police station in-charge and a deputy superintendent of police rank officer of rape, the release said. Jamshedpur Superintendent of Police Anoop Birtharay said in the release that three persons were arrested and sent to judicial custody while a probe is on into the alleged involvement of the two police officers into the crime.  Following this, the chief minister assured the girl of justice and ordered the CID probe, it said.  Article source: http...

Chhattisgarh Schools Say Tablets Given By Government Show Obscene Photos

READ MORE Bastar:  A few government schools in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar have complained that the tablets given to them by the government to track the attendance of teachers and students online show obscene photographs on the screen when the devices are started. “Since last few days, we had received complaints from different schools regarding the malfunction of the tablets given to them by the government. While checking it was found that tablets show obscene photographs whenever somebody tries to log in. Similar incidents have happened in other schools also in the state. We are working on this and the problem will be rectified soon. Till then, we have asked the schools to work offline,” Garun Mishra, Cluster Resource Coordinator, told ANI. The Ministry of Human Resource Development had earlier distributed tablets in schools across Chhattisgarh to help teachers to record routine details. They found the woman, Renu, lying on the floor in a pool of blood, her two-year-old son sitting nearby. Neighbours took the heavily bleeding woman to hospital in an auto-rickshaw but she was declared brought dead. Renu, 26, was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife, allegedly by her husband Rajesh, in the presence of their infant son. The police have arrested Rajesh. The 30-share index surged 83.65 points, or 0.22 per cent, to an all-time high of 37,690.23. The RBI is said to be under pressure to increase the key interest rates as it tackles rising oil prices and inflation. The 6-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), headed by RBI Governor Urjit Patel, will be making a decision on whether to hike the lending rates or maintain a status quo on Wednesday.
